Viña Leyda was founded in 1998, in Leyda Valley, place today recognized as the last great innovation of Chilean viticulture. Viña Leyda was a pioneer in this valley, creating the new designation of origin, D.O. Leyda Valley in May 2001. Belonging to VSPT Wine Group, Leyda has planted vineyards for a total of 230 hectares.
With notes of black and red fruit, this Carmenère has a strong flavor and is typical of the grape variety. It has a spiced and earthy bouquet with hints of black pepper, tobacco and chocolate. Subtle notes of vanilla and roasted almonds are perceptible, thanks to the oak used during aging.
